Dear Mr. Paladini
I have the knowledge of your thoughts and intentions but I beg you kindly but seriously to leave my daughter alone as she is far too unripe to think of binding her future and life to a young man, who with all his charm and intelligence cannot at least at present offer her that social position which she from birth and education can claim and expect.
Personally I know you but slightly but have got a good impression of you and your serious intentions and mind - I cannot however tolerate to see her reputation deteriorated. If you have anything in the matter to say you are welcome to talk the question over with me any forenoon between
